Hair System Install Preparation Products Overview

Prep Products

Starting Every Hair Install on the Right Step

Each of the following preparation products we’ve created with your and your client’s experience in mind. These products prioritize your stylists’ and their clients’ comfort and success first and foremost.

99% Alcohol

There’s a reason why 99% Alcohol is almost always the first product we mention whether you’re working with a first-timer or returning client. It readies the bonding surface for the best results. That’s as much the case with your client’s skin as it is with your client’s hair system base.

99% Alcohol cleans the system and your client’s scalp of any dust, dirt, oils, and dead skin cells. Without 99% Alcohol you would effectively be turning our tapes and adhesives into lint rollers. They would stick to the oils and dust instead of sticking to your client’s skin.

Our tape, like all tape, only sticks to whatever is on top of the surface. 99% Alcohol makes sure that the surface you intend to bond to is all that’s on top.

Directions

  • Saturate sponge brush with 99% Alcohol.
  • Apply to the area you wish to sanitize and wipe clean.
  • This will clean and prepare the area for optimal adhesion.

Just-Rite Positioning Spray

Just-Rite Positioning Spray is your appointment’s insurance policy more or less. It briefly delays the adhesive from bonding with the system. This allows you to get the system placed right where you need it to be without any mistakes. Just-Rite Positioning Spray also ensures that your client gets the look exactly as they want it.

Just-Rite Positioning Spray offers you the ability to install hair systems without spending extra time retracing steps or making touch ups. Plus, it does this without affecting the ultimate hold times of the adhesives or tapes. It’s also safe for all systems and quick to evaporate, requiring no extra steps to your cleanup routine.

Directions

  • After the tape or liquid adhesive has been applied to the hair system or scalp, spray Just-Rite Positioning Spray over the adhesive area.
  • The amount sprayed determines the amount of time available to adjust the system. The more you spray, the more time you have to make adjustments.
  • Place the system onto the scalp and move into place.
  • You can also use Just-Rite Positioning Spray when making touch ups as well.

Make sure your stylists have all the Just-Rite Positioning Spray they want to keep your salon’s reputation as perfect as their client’s system placement.

Bond Breaker Shampoo

To put it bluntly, Bond Breaker Shampoo is the most important part of your prep work. It covers three essential steps all at once:

  • Washes out any residual stickiness from your client’s hair
  • Scrubs their skin clean
  • Cleanses their hair of any leftover product

Once you’ve used Bond Breaker Shampoo, your client’s hair and scalp are primed for an excellent bond. It leaves your prep work all set for a scalp protector and then the adhesive.

Our Bond Breaker Shampoo contains sulfates that allow it to scrub out any last specks of stickiness. For this reason, we only recommend using Bond Breaker Shampoo on your client before the install or after the removal. Otherwise, it’s strong enough with those sulfates to potentially compromise the adhesive’s hold strength.

That said, it is skin safe and good to be used on all system types.

Directions

  • Apply a small amount of Bond Breaker Shampoo to your client’s hair and scalp.
  • Rub in as you would with a normal shampoo, focusing on the adhesive areas.
  • Rinse, and repeat if needed.

Our Line of Scalp Protectors

Our scalp protectors offer you a great way to earn a client for life. With these product options, you can offer your client a protective barrier against irritation. This makes the wear experience so much more comfortable for clients with active lifestyles, oily skin, or who live in humid climates.

Each of our scalp protectors work as an adhesive booster too. This means they promote improved hold times for our tapes and liquid adhesives. Plus, of course, they are all skin safe.

Directions

  • Clean the skin where tape is to be applied with 99% Alcohol.
  • Apply one to two coats of your favorite scalp protector to the scalp before applying any adhesive.
  • Let it dry completely until it’s no longer tacky to the touch.

We provide two different scalp protectors to make sure all your different clients have the right product for their unique situation.

  • Scalp Protector
  • Max Hold Sport

Scalp Protector

Scalp Protector gives your client our thinnest (though still reliably) protective barrier against irritation. However tough your client’s skin may be, we recommend that you at least use Scalp Protector to prepare for install.

As with all our scalp protectors, it gives the bond performance an added boost of strength.

Max Hold Sport

Max Hold Sport is our strongest protective barrier against irritation. It’s so strong that it even allows your clients to go swim, shower, and work out immediately after your appointment.

This could be a great perk for your salon to offer. Instead of asking your clients to wait the customary 24 hours for their bonds to strengthen, you become the stylist with a secret trick and the ability to get them comfortably doing what they want to do immediately.

Scalp protector would be great in a bottle/ container with a removable cap. This way it can be applied with a brush. I’ve been removing the dabber, which is difficult, pouring some in a disposable cup then applying to the clients scalp. A larger size for in house use would be great. Also please advise when EuroBond plus strips are available.

Thank you for your suggestion of a removable cap for Scalp Protector!
