Last week was an exciting week for Walker Tape! Last Wednesday, November 9th, we had our ground breaking for on our new building set to open Summer 2017. We were excited and humbled to be joined by guests from the West Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Zions Bank, Tom Stewart Construction, and of course, our entire Walker Tape family. The morning started out with a sincere and patriotic introduction from the CEO and President of the West Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Aisza Wilde.

She was followed by Councilman Dirk Burton of West Jordan. He thanked Walker Tape for being a member of the West Jordan community and commended us for sticking with it in a “hairy business”.

Diane then spoke about Walker’s beginnings. She told the story of her parents, having retired from their first business with everything paid off. Her father, Brent, had a vision. He thought he could make better products for the hair replacement industry by building custom machinery. They had the courage to take a big risk and start Walker Tape. And here we are, thirty-one years later. Diane also thanked our architects at AE Urbia for a great building design and Zions Bank for their vision and support of us and our growth. She also thanked our entire Walker team for helping to get Walker Tape where it is today.

We finished up with our Walker “FIRE IT UP” cheer and then it was time for the main event. Our six owners officially broke ground for our new building!
