The Best Hair Systems for Summer
The biggest problem facing wearers and their systems during summer? The heat. Hair systems, especially poly bases, can become uncomfortable or unbearable to wear outside, and rays from the sun can potentially damage systems.
Luckily enough, there are a few different system options to choose from to help make your clients comfortable and safe in the sun.
- Lace Hair Systems: Lace systems are both light and breathable. They are one of the most comfortable options for wearers.
- Capless Systems: Capless systems are made with an open wefting around the cap to aid ventilation. This construction allows for greater circulation around the scalp to keep your clients cool.
- Synthetic Systems: Synthetic systems take substantially less time to style, and are less susceptible to frizz. This lets your clients spend less time on maintenance and more time on their fun summer plans.
Choosing the Right Adhesive
With the right adhesive, your clients can wear their system comfortably for weeks with minimal upkeep, and can do wonders for maintenance time.
There are two ideal adhesive options for summer wear:
- Silicone-based liquid adhesives: Silicone adhesives work great in temperatures between 50° – 80°, or mildly hot or dry climates. They are also ideal for clients who have a more oily scalp.
- Acrylic-based liquid adhesives: Acrylic adhesives work wonders in hot or humid climates, at or above 80° weather. They’ve been made to withstand sweat, heat, and oily skin without breaking down prematurely.
