Product Spotlight: Extreme Hold
The most important piece of the hair system puzzle is the adhesive. And when you have clients of differing backgrounds, ages, skin, climate, etc.; finding the adhesive that works for them can be tough.
For some clients, the adhesive that works best for them is a liquid adhesive. And choosing a specific liquid adhesive is like trying to choose a drink from a soda dispenser. Daily wear VS extended wear VS maximum wear. Silicone base VS acrylic VS water. Overwhelming much?
That’s why we’re putting the spotlight on one of our most popular liquid adhesives: Extreme Hold.
What is Extreme Hold?
Extreme Hold is one of our more popular maximum wear liquid adhesives. The adhesive’s hold lasts for up to four-or-more weeks (depending on client, climate, and other bonding factors), is safe on skin, waterproof, and works on any and all hair system bases.
What Makes Extreme Hold Great:
1. It’s silicone-based
Silicone based liquid adhesives offer a variety of benefits for clients. They can bond to a wide variety of surfaces (which includes skin – the toughest of all!), and have a high resistance to heat, humidity, and moisture for those who live in hot and humid climates.
Silicone bases also help to create stronger bonds (which is why Extreme Hold is one our best bets for a strong, long-lasting hold), and are more resistant to chemicals, moisture, and other factors that can affect the shelf life.
2. It is easy to work with
Many liquid adhesives have a reputation for being tough to work with, especially compared to their tape cousins and adhesive in-laws. That’s why we’ve designed Extreme Hold to be easier to work with!
One of the bigger struggles of liquid adhesives is placing them on the scalp without creating a mess. Extreme Hold is designed to have a better viscosity, which helps it to flow better onto the scalp without much of a hassle.
Not only does it flow better than other adhesives, but Extreme Hold is also easy to apply to both scalp and system, and helps to make the overall removal process gentle (see which remover works best with Extreme Hold below).
3. It is nearly invisible under the hair unit
Extreme Hold dries clear, which allows your client to have a near invisible look while wearing their hair system!
How to Remove Extreme Hold
Extreme Hold pairs together well with our Walker Signature Remover.
Made with all organic ingredients, Walker Signature Remover removes Extreme Hold (and other adhesives) Along with being made with medical grade gentleness and a mild citrus fragrance.
A quick wash with Bond Breaker Shampoo after removal with system safe soap and warm water leaves you with a perfectly clean client and hair unit.
Storing Extreme Hold
Extreme Hold, and all other Walker Tape® liquid products, must be kept away from heat, humidity, and light to maximize its shelf life. Be sure to store it in a well-ventilated, cool, dark, dry, room-temperature controlled environment (60-80°F). Close bottle lids tightly before storing as well.
With proper storage, our liquid products have a shelf life of up to six months.
