The Benefits of Using Products Seasonally

With the changing of the seasons comes new holidays, new opportunities, and different kinds of activities. But with each new season also comes challenges for your tapes and adhesives and how they will perform with the changing weather and temperatures.

You may be wondering what products you should use during certain seasons, such as when summer is on the horizon, or when winter is coming up. We’re here to share our knowledge with you. All the products listed can be used in all conditions, but they have key benefits when used in certain seasons.

Warm Weather Products

 

Summer can be brutal on adhesives. Between sweat, sun, and swimming, there are so many factors that can weaken the adhesive’s hold over time. That means you’re going to need products that can help strengthen and protect that hold.

Products like:

 

Max Hold Sport

 

One of the best ways to help protect adhesives from the forces of summer is with Max Hold Sport, our strongest scalp protector. It’s made to create a barrier between the adhesive and anything that could loosen the hold, like sweat or chlorinated water.

• Made to create longer lasting hold times for bonds.

Walker Signature Tape

 

Warm weather means that many of your clients will be looking to switch to lace systems, which are lighter and more breathable. These systems can be delicate, so you will need a tape that’s gentle, while not shining through the mesh system construction.

We recommend Walker Signature Tape. It’s the perfect tape for summertime because it has:

 

• Longer wear time, which means more time for your clients between installs

Lace Release

 

Since summer hair systems are more delicate, they’re going to need a remover that is gentle as well. Lace Release is gentle on delicate hair systems, while also being designed to work quickly.

Cold weather can be another challenge for tapes. Cool temperatures can cause them to harden, leading to cracks in the tape and weaker holds for the hair system.

With colder conditions, your clients may want to switch to wearing sturdier systems, such as polyurethane bases. These units need stronger adhesives, removers, and products. Here are some products that can help with that challenge:

 

Extreme Hold Liquid Adhesive

 

Liquid adhesives can often be the better way to go during winter. When stored on a shelf they may harden in the cold, but their holds won’t be affected. You’ll just need to gradually warm them up using a safe method (putting the bottle in warm water, for example). Then it will be ready to use!

One favorite for wearers is Extreme Hold. It’s skin safe and dries clear, so it won’t show through a system.

C-22 Solvent

 

With sturdier adhesives and systems comes the need for a strong adhesive remover. One of our most popular removers happens to be just that. C-22 Solvent is one of our strongest skin safe and fast acting removers.

Just-Rite Positioning Spray

This spray is designed to briefly suspend the hold of an adhesive, allowing you time to readjust if needed. Do a few quick sprays on the inside of a system before placing it on your client’s head.

Bond Breaker Shampoo

 

Designed to strip away any adhesive or build-up that may be left on the bio hair or the unit, Bond Breaker Shampoo is a great way to help achieve a solid bond. It can also help get rid of any oils or dirt that might affect a hold.

Top-Loc Knot Sealer
