It can be tough to spot the difference between real and fake Hair tape. There are several knockoff Blue’s/Lace Front Support Tapes out there. If you accidentally buy some it can be a real problem. Spotting fake tapes is important for client safety and satisfaction. Many fake tapes will not have the same testing, or skin safe materials as our tapes. Here are three easy ways to spot a fake and why it matters.
1: Color
If you have both liners sitting next to each other, the knockoff hair tape is a darker shade of blue. If you do not have both tapes side by side it will be harder to tell from color alone.
2: Thickness
The knockoff tapes have a heavier/thicker liner. If you measure the thickness of the two, the knockoff blue is 5 ml thick. The real/original blue is only 3ml thick. Again, if you do not have the real tape to compare it to, it will be hard to determine from thickness alone.
3: Flexibility
This is the most important test and can be done with or without the real product to compare to. Try and stretch the tape in your hand. The knockoff Blue is on a plastic carrier which does not allow the tape to be flexible. If you try and stretch it, the tape stays stiff. The original Blue is on a different carrier. If you try and stretch it, it will continue to stretch until it tears. Flexibility is extremely important in determining how long these tapes hold. The skin on your head moves, and the tape has to move with it. Otherwise, the tape loosens or can come partially off, resulting in skin irritation
We hope these tips help you to steer clear of inferior tapes!

How to know the difference between real and fake of ultrahold adhasive
“Hello Deepak! There are a few different ways to tell the difference between a real version of Ultra Hold Adhesive, and a fake version.
We suggest starting by checking the labels. A different package and anything listed that is different from the official Walker Tape label will indicate a fake.
Another thing to check would be brush sizes. Ultra Hold’s built-in brush is distinct from our competitors. If the brush has any sort of difference from the official Walker Tape brush, the product may be a fake.
Lastly, we suggest comparing the smell of the product. Ultra Hold contains ethyl acetate, which has a strong and distinct smell, almost like nail polish remover. If the scent is different in any way, that is a strong sign that it could be a fake.
You are also able to find a salon or distributor here to purchase a bottle of real Ultra Hold, and compare it to the other one you own.
If you need more help determining a fake version in more depth, please reach out to our Customer Service team. We hope this helps! Happy Tuesday.

“Hello Hans! We’re sorry to hear that you’re having this problem. There are a couple ways you may be able to spot the difference between a real and fake bottle of C-22:
The Color: If the color is any different from a regular bottle of C-22, then you will know it is a fake.
Be sure to look at the bottle and label for any differences. This can also help you to spot a fake.
The smell: C-22 is made with a signature citrus (orange-y) scent. If the bottle does not have that smell, chances are it is a fake.
However, the best way to tell the difference between a real and a fake bottle of C-22 remover is to compare the potential fake to an actual bottle of C-22.
We would love to send you a sample bottle of C-22, so that you can compare it to the bottle you have purchased. Our Customer Service team will be reaching out to you to help.
We hope this helps.
Happy Monday!
